Camelot Cream F1 Digitalis Plant Plugs | 4-Pack | First-Year Blooming Foxglove

$19.95

Bring the soft, romantic look of foxgloves to your garden without starting from tiny seeds or waiting until the second year for flowers.

These Camelot Cream F1 Digitalis (Digitalis purpurea) are established plant plugs grown from seed sourced from Johnny's Selected Seeds. Camelot is an F1 hybrid selected for its ability to flower in its first year when grown under appropriate conditions.

Our plugs receive an additional head start. They are started well before the spring planting season and grown into established young plants with developed root systems and healthy vegetative growth before being shipped to you.

~ Why Start With Plant Plugs? ~

Foxglove can be grown from seed, but its extremely small seeds and young seedlings require careful watering, adequate light, and considerable time to become established. With plugs, the most delicate stages have already been handled for you.

Your plants arrive with:

  • Established root systems ready for transplanting
  • Healthy vegetative growth
  • First-year flowering potential
  • No seed germination required
  • No tiny-seedling care
  • A substantial head start compared with spring sowing
  • Easier and more predictable garden spacing

Simply acclimate your plants, transplant them into their permanent location, and allow them to continue growing.

~ What You'll Receive ~

You will receive FOUR healthy Camelot Cream F1 Digitalis plant plugs with established roots and green vegetative growth.

Plants are shipped in their vegetative growing stage and will NOT arrive in bloom.

Because these are living plants, the exact height, number of leaves, and appearance of individual plugs will naturally vary.

To reduce unnecessary plastic waste, plugs are protected for shipment using wax paper and paper-based packaging whenever practical rather than individual plastic nursery pots.

~ Growing Camelot Cream Digitalis ~

Camelot Cream produces tall, elegant flower spikes covered in soft cream to pale ivory flowers with beautifully spotted throats. The strong vertical form works especially well in:

  • Cottage gardens
  • Cut-flower gardens
  • Perennial and mixed borders
  • Pollinator gardens
  • Mass plantings
  • Garden beds where additional height is needed

For best results, plant approximately 12–18 inches apart in fertile, well-draining soil. Digitalis performs well in full sun to partial shade. In warmer climates, some protection from intense afternoon sun can be beneficial. Water regularly while the plugs establish — the soil should remain reasonably moist but never continuously saturated.

~ When Your Plants Arrive ~

  1. Unpack promptly. Remove your plants from the shipping box as soon as possible after delivery.
  2. Check moisture. Check the growing medium and water if it feels dry. Avoid completely saturating an already-moist plug.
  3. Allow the plants to recover. Place the plugs in a protected location with bright, indirect light while they recover from shipping.
  4. Acclimate them to your garden. Gradually introduce the plants to stronger sunlight, wind, and outdoor conditions before transplanting.
  5. Plant. Transplant into prepared, well-draining garden soil at approximately the same depth the plant was growing in its plug.
  6. Water thoroughly. Keep the soil consistently moist during the establishment period while new roots begin growing into the surrounding soil.

Some temporary wilting, yellowing, bent foliage, or minor leaf damage can occur during shipping. This does not necessarily indicate an unhealthy plant. The established root system is the most important part of your plug, and healthy plants should begin producing new growth after becoming established.
